The prophecy actually got to him, gaining power, and greed was all he thought about. He did anything in his power to gain power, even if that meant killing the King. King Duncan was the only person Macbeth killed himself. His next victims were killed by the assassins he hired. Greed has real changed Macbeths personality, he is now obsessed with power and the witches prophecies. Macbeths greed leads him into actually believing no one will bump off him, nor will anyone else be able to hold power. This in the end l eads Macbeth into his downfall.
