Moving Along With The Author

Through my high school career, I always followed the guideword of receiving and completing one task and then moving onto the next. Therefore, I would have to say that I have always been the lineament that reads with the grain. I would kinda do work with the roots ideas as opposed to reproducing an argument in terms of my own person-to-person experience. In other words, arguing is not my area of expertise. When I read a book, I often think of the work put into the writing and place myself in the writers situation. I find myself lost in thought of how they reach ideas to generate their writings and find this to be a knotty task. I would rather read generously, work inside psyche elses system, and see my world in someone elses termsâ€"read inside the grain, as stated in Ways of Reading.
For example, in Lord of the Flies, a book I read years ago, the author suggests that the environment, forced on the multitude of boys, turns them completely. Thus, the boys, stranded on an island, convert from civilized thinking to barbarous behaviors over a period of time.



He describes that when mankind is impel into survival mode, they are more likely to change to animalistic behaviors and deal for survival rather than become slim and organized. Hence, I agree with the author in this thought. I deal that humans have a natural instinct to fight for survival and would rather think of themselves in desperate measure than to think of keeping the group alive.
In conclusion, when focusing on reading a book, my general instinct is to surround myself with the authors thoughts and navigate with the natural flow of the plot.
